We just moved into town in August and were looking for activities for my 5 year old son. My wife inquired on local mom pages and a common response was Eagle Martial Arts in Boonton. A few days later we went to enroll and they had a great promotion to make sure our son liked it (which they knew he would and they were right) before committing. He loves attending EMA because the classes are fun and challenging and the instructors are amazing. The best part is that it goes beyond him learning martial arts, he is learning discipline, confidence and most importantly how to give back to the community. EMA has raised money for Breast Cancer Research and collected canned foods during the Thanksgiving season for those less fortunate. As a parent, I feel a part of the EMA family and community. Whenever my wife and I walk in the door we are always greeted with a smile and handshake from Master Jan or any of the instructors. I highly recommend EMA!

Since I joined EMA in early January 2018, I find that my focus and attention has tremendously improved. I am more appreciative of things around me ever small critters and bugs. I believe in “to live and let live” and not harm even the smallest of living beings.

Our daughter has only been able to attend classes once a week, but we have seen noticeable improvement in her concentration and eye contact! We are confident that once we can get her to classes more often, she will benefit even more in those areas as well as in focus and attention span. Cassidy always leaves EMA with a positive outlook and we know that feeling is a direct result of all the positive reinforcement and energy she receives from the EMA instructors and staff!

I, James Shenton, am excited every time I run through your doors. I can't wait to find out what I'm going to learn from the instructors. I enrolled my boys in the after care program since mid march. Do I need to be in shape before I start Kickboxing?

Short answer; absolutely not! We have members of all health and fitness levels, and our classes are designed to fit around each one of these levels.

The only thing we ask is that you bring your best attitude when you come to one of our classes. If you have the mental framework determined to become physically healthy, that is all we want to see. Our trainers will help you get into the best shape of your life!

Can I lose weight with the Fitness Kickboxing program?

Of course. Although, we must say you get what you put in. If you follow a consistent workout pattern, you are bound to see the results you want. On average, kickboxers burn an average of 820 calories per hour.

Do I need any kickboxing experience?

No, we love teaching new members. There is no better way to gain respect from our community than someone who has the will to join our class without any experience. If you can take that first step, you have already proven to our group that you are a strong-minded individual. We will teach you everything you need to know.

Does the physical training include weights or machines?

Most of the training comes from the natural, isotonic, aerobic, anaerobic, and isometric exercises, although, some weight training may be recommended or used. These exercises help our members with losing weight and toning the whole body; our focus is for you to develop speed, flexibility, and force.

What should I wear or bring?

Sweats and a T-shirt, or yoga attire, work best. You’ll also want to bring a towel and a bottle of water. And of course bring the mental attitude that you’re going to kill this workout!

How often should I attend classes?

We understand how busy your life can be; we would love to see you at least once a week. We believe once a week will be a good start for you to build your overall endurance and capability to implement the basic kickboxing moves.

Once you have built the basic foundation of the Kickboxing moves, we encourage you to then increase the amount of frequency and intensity of your workouts. We want you to go at your own pace, but make sure to challenge yourself to see the best results.
